The fate of the future Marvel Universe 2099 hangs in the balance as an ancient rivalry takes on a whole new shape. Writer Steve Orlando and artist Paul Fry began a Marvel series featuring the future of Spider-Man in May Spider-Man 2099: Alpha Exit #1. In later versions, Miguel O’Hara has teamed up with X-Men 2099 to fight the evil Cabal, who is trying to obtain powers from the Celestial Garden. The cable car is led by Norman Osborne, an old enemy of Peter Parker’s Spider-Man. With both armies ready for battle, Spider-Man 2099 and Norman Osborn’s Galactic Goblin face all the marbles.
ComicBook.com has an exclusive preview of Spider-Man 2099: Omega Exit #1 from Steve Orlando, Paul Fry, Dono Sánchez-Almara, and VC’s Clayton Cowles. Spider-Man 2099, along with the other assembled 2099 heroes, stands in front of Norman Osborne and Caballe. But before the battle begins, the observer Olana summarizes the salient events of displacement Event. Olana revealed that she took Uatu’s place as The Watcher, as the two were once lovers. Unfortunately, Owato was killed after being killed while in office.
Spider-Man 2099 and Norman Osborn exchange barbs, although Norman notes how Miguel isn’t Spidey like his predecessor, Peter Parker. Norman is proud to have topped Doom and Masters of Evil, and has even bigger galactic goals in his sights. Perhaps that’s why he’s now calling himself Galactic Goblin, unveiling a new battle armor to engage Spider-Man 2099 in combat.
Spider-Man 2099: Exit It is a celebration of 30 years since Marvel’s 2099 lineup, which introduced futuristic versions of classic characters and teams such as Spider-Man, X-Men, Ghost Rider, Doctor Doom, and more. The event conclusion should establish the next era of 2099, so this is definitely not a problem to miss.
